Google Research: AI Helps Identify Skin Conditions but Not Next Steps

Google Research published two studies showing that AI-assisted dermatology tools significantly improve a layperson's ability to name skin conditions. However, the research found no statistically significant improvement in a user's ability to determine appropriate medical next steps. These findings highlight that while AI aids identification, it does not automatically lead to better decision-making for health concerns.
