Privacy Policy

Introduction

This policy explains what information HeadsUpAI collects, why, and the control you have over it.

HeadsUpAI (headsupai.io) is operated by Harikrishnan from Chennai, India. Questions or requests: privacy@headsupai.io.

This policy covers HeadsUpAI. It does not apply to the third-party platforms, websites, or services we link to or source content from — those operate under their own privacy practices.

Information We Collect

Public source data. We collect publicly available information from AI sources we follow — including posts, articles, blogs, and other public content — to surface what's happening across the AI ecosystem. This is public information, not data you give us.

Derived data. From that public information we create the editorial content you read.

Account data. When you sign in via Google, GitHub, or LinkedIn, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider. We never see or store your login credentials.

Your preferences. The job role and interest groups you select during onboarding, your bookmarks, and feed settings so we can personalize what you see. We also learn from how you interact with the feed — what you read, bookmark, and like — to improve relevance over time.

Usage data. We use OpenPanel (website analytics), Microsoft Clarity (session recordings and heatmaps), and Sentry (error reporting) to understand how HeadsUpAI is being used and to catch bugs.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and local storage for authentication, preferences, and analytics. Microsoft Clarity uses cookies to record session replays and heatmaps. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Run and personalize your feed
  • Keep your account secure
  • Send notifications you opt into
  • Understand usage, fix bugs, and improve the product
  • Comply with law and enforce our rights

We process your account data based on your consent — given when you sign in via a social provider. We process usage data based on our legitimate interest in operating, improving, and securing the service. If you're covered by the UK or EU GDPR, these are the lawful bases under which we process your data.

When We Share Data

We share data only with the providers that help operate HeadsUpAI. We do not sell your personal information.

  • Service providers — Cloudflare (hosting), Microsoft Clarity (session recordings), and Sentry (error reporting). We also host our own analytics (OpenPanel) — your data stays on our infrastructure and is not shared externally.
  • AI providers — Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, and xAI Grok (see AI Processing section below).
  • Social providers for authentication — Google, GitHub, LinkedIn.
  • Authorities if required by law, to prevent abuse, or to protect our rights.

AI Processing

We use AI to evaluate, summarize, and cluster publicly available source content from the AI ecosystem. This processing may use third-party AI providers — Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, and xAI Grok. We send them public source content for processing, not your personal account data.

HeadsUpAI links to external websites and sources. Those sites operate under their own privacy practices.

Your Rights

You can request access, correction, or deletion of your account data anytime by emailing privacy@headsupai.io. If you're covered by India's DPDP Act, the UK or EU GDPR, those rights apply to your data and we'll respond within 30 days of your verified request.

Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Delete your account and we'll remove your personal data, except what we're required to keep for legal or security reasons.

Security

We use reasonable measures — HTTPS, encrypted connections, and access controls — to protect your information. We'll notify you if we discover a breach affecting your data, and report it to relevant authorities as required by law.

International Users

HeadsUpAI is operated from India. If you use it from outside India, your data may be processed in India and other countries where we or our providers operate.

Copyright & Takedowns

If you believe content on HeadsUpAI infringes your copyright, email privacy@headsupai.io with the URL and details. We'll review and remove infringing material promptly. Removing it from HeadsUpAI does not remove it from the original source.

Grievance Officer (India)

In compliance with Indian law: Harikrishnan, Chennai, India. Email: privacy@headsupai.io. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.

Children

HeadsUpAI is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We'll update this policy as the product evolves and note the last updated date above. Material changes will be made clear on the site.
