OpenRouter launched the Fusion API, a compound model that runs multiple LLMs in parallel to synthesize a final answer. On the DRACO deep research benchmark, a panel of budget models achieved performance within 1% of Claude Fable 5 while costing roughly half the price. Fusion is available via the openrouter/fusion slug or as a tool.
