SambaNova Launches SN50 RDU to Power High-Speed Agentic Inference
· Updated
SambaNova, an AI infrastructure company, unveiled the SN50 RDU, its fifth-generation processor designed for large-scale inference (running trained models). This Reconfigurable Dataflow Unit (a chip architecture that moves data more efficiently) is optimized for the high-throughput and low-latency demands of agentic AI.
Standard GPUs often struggle with the rapid model switching and iterative reasoning cycles required by autonomous agents. By using a dataflow architecture rather than traditional parallel processing, the SN50 reduces the latency of multi-step tasks, making complex agent swarms and real-time coding assistants more viable for enterprise deployment.
A new partnership with Intel integrates the SN50 with Xeon 6 CPUs to handle coordination and database tasks alongside heavy model processing. The SambaRack SN50 systems are scheduled to begin shipping in the second half of 2026, targeting organizations building high-scale RAG and conversational AI platforms.
