OpenAI Launches $100 ChatGPT Pro Tier for Heavy Codex Usage

OpenAI expanded its subscription lineup with a $100/month Pro tier specifically targeting users of Codex (an agentic coding capability that uses tools and reasons). This new tier offers 5x the usage limits of the $20 ChatGPT Plus plan and includes access to the exclusive GPT-5.4 Pro model.

The update addresses a significant pricing gap between the $20 Plus and $200 Pro plans. By rebalancing the Plus plan to favor steady daily usage over long bursts, OpenAI is steering high-intensity agentic sessions toward this new mid-tier to better manage compute demand for its most advanced reasoning models.

If you hit limits during long coding sessions, you can upgrade to the $100 tier for 10x usage through May 31st. The plan also provides unlimited access to Instant and Thinking models like GPT-5.3 Instant and GPT-5.4 Thinking. Business and Enterprise users can still manage seats through their existing administrative consoles.
