Anthropic Launches Claude Design to Turn Prompts Into Interactive Prototypes

Anthropic launched Claude Design in research preview, a visual workspace for creating prototypes, presentations, and one-pagers. Powered by Claude Opus 4.7, the tool uses high-resolution vision to interpret design intent. It can ingest codebases to extract a design system, ensuring every output matches your brand's typography and colors.

This update bridges the gap between static mockups and functional software. While traditional AI generators produce isolated images, Claude Design creates interactive prototypes refined through direct edits or custom sliders. It solves design hallucinations (plausible but factually incorrect outputs) by grounding the model in your actual product files.

You can start from a prompt, upload documents, or use a web capture tool to pull elements from live sites. Once finalized, you can export to Canva, PPTX, or HTML, or generate a handoff bundle for Claude Code. The preview is available now for paid subscribers.

Claude Design is currently available in research preview for subscribers on the Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. Access is included with these existing subscriptions and uses your standard plan limits. For Enterprise organizations, the feature is disabled by default and must be enabled by an administrator in the organization settings.

When a design is ready for implementation, Claude packages the visual assets and design intent into a single bundle. You can then pass this bundle to Claude Code with a single instruction to begin building the production software.
