Claude redesigned its Claude Code desktop application to support parallel agentic coding (AI that autonomously writes and debugs code). Users can launch multiple independent sessions simultaneously, managed via a new sidebar that tracks active work. The update introduces a drag-and-drop layout with an integrated terminal, file editing, and a faster diff viewer.
This shift addresses the primary bottleneck in autonomous development: the human wait time during complex tasks. By enabling multi-session support, developers can orchestrate several agents at once—debugging a backend issue in one window while generating frontend components in another—without context-switching between separate terminal tabs or windows.
You can now arrange your workspace to include HTML and PDF previews alongside your code and terminal. Existing CLI plugins are fully compatible with the new desktop interface. To access these features, download or update the desktop app; the redesign is available now for all users.
