Windsurf replaced credits with daily and weekly usage quotas and added a $200/month Max plan. The old credit model charged equally for simple and complex requests; new quotas refresh daily and cover most normal usage.

Windsurf, an AI coding IDE from Codeium, replaced its credit-based pricing with usage quotas that refresh daily and weekly. Four updated plans are now live: Free (light quota, unlimited tab completions), Pro ($20/mo, all frontier models), Teams ($40/seat/mo, centralized billing and admin dashboard), and Max ($200/mo, significantly higher quotas and priority support).

The old credit model charged the same rate for quick questions and lengthy multi-step agent sessions — which pushed developers to cram multiple requests into single prompts rather than work interactively. Quota-based pricing removes that calculus: allowances refresh automatically and, for most users, cover all normal agent usage.

Existing paid subscribers are grandfathered at their current price and get a free trial week on the new quota system. If the new plan doesn't suit your workflow, you can cancel and request a prorated refund.
