Cursor Adds Premium Teams Seats to Support High Volume Agentic Coding

Cursor is updating its Teams plan by increasing base usage limits and introducing a Premium seat tier. Every seat now features two distinct usage pools: one for first-party models like Composer and Auto, and another for third-party APIs. This separation allows for generous limits on internal models while managing external frontier model costs.
Standard Seat (Annual)
$32/month
Premium Seat (Annual)
$96/month
Premium Usage Multiplier
5x Standard
Renewal Effective Date
July 1, 2026
Usage Pools
Composer/Auto and 3rd-Party API

The shift addresses the unpredictable costs of agentic coding (AI that autonomously writes and tests code). By offering a Premium seat with five times the usage at three times the cost, Cursor provides a fixed-price alternative to the usage-based credits recently adopted by GitHub Copilot and OpenAI.

Admins can now monitor real-time usage through a new dashboard and set threshold-based alerts for Slack. The Standard seat remains $32 per month on annual plans, while the Premium seat is $96 per month. These changes are live for new customers and apply to existing teams starting July 1, 2026.

We’re increasing usage limits for every Teams user. Inspired by the success of our Ultra plan, we're also introducing a Premium team seat that includes 5x usage at only 3x the cost.

Still wondering? A few quick answers below.

The Premium seat is a new tier for Cursor Teams designed for power users. It provides five times the included usage of a Standard seat at three times the monthly cost. This tier is intended to cover a full month of heavy agentic coding for 99% of users.

Every Teams seat now includes two separate pools of usage. One pool is reserved for first-party Cursor models like Composer and Auto, while the other is for third-party API models. This allows Cursor to offer higher limits on its own models without increasing the base seat price.

The updated usage limits and Premium seat tier are available immediately for all new customers. For existing Teams customers, the new pricing and usage structure will take effect during billing cycles starting on or after July 1, 2026.
