Sentinel released sentinel-ai-connect, an npm package that gives AI agents private internet access through a decentralized network of over 900 nodes. This allows autonomous agents to bypass geographic restrictions and IP blocking using a capital-efficient, pay-per-byte model without requiring accounts or API keys.

Sentinel, a decentralized bandwidth infrastructure protocol, launched sentinel-ai-connect to provide AI agents with private internet access. The npm package uses a single function call to route traffic through 900+ nodes across 130+ countries. This decentralized VPN (dVPN) infrastructure allows agents to browse the web without relying on centralized servers.

Autonomous agents often face geographic blocks or IP-based rate limits when performing web-based tasks. Traditional proxy services require human-managed accounts and credit card billing, creating friction for autonomous workflows. This update provides a programmatic way for agents to secure their own connectivity using a pay-per-byte model.

You can integrate the SDK into existing agent frameworks to enable geo-targeted data retrieval. The system is compatible with the MCP (Model Context Protocol — a standard for connecting models to tools), allowing agents to query data from specific regions. Developers can install the package via npm install sentinel-ai-connect to start immediately.
