OpenCode, an open-source AI coding agent, now supports
Opus 4.7. This integration introduces a 1-million-token context window, a fivefold increase over previous limits. The expanded capacity is available at the same price as the earlier 4.6 model version.Large context windows are essential for agentic engineering (the discipline of building reliable agent systems). By providing a 1M window, the agent can ingest entire enterprise repositories in a single turn. This eliminates the need for complex retrieval-augmented generation (grounding AI with external data) while maintaining high-reasoning performance.
You can now use the agent for full-repository refactoring and complex architectural changes that previously exceeded token limits. To begin, update your local client and select the opus-4-7 model in your configuration. This allows for deeper codebase analysis without the overhead of managing fragmented context.
