OpenAI Launches Codex Use Case Gallery for One-Click Agentic Workflows

· Updated

OpenAI released the Codex use case gallery, a library of practical workflows for the desktop application. This update introduces one-click implementation for specific tasks, allowing users to launch pre-configured environments directly. It also adds support for Plugins, which package skills and MCP servers into reusable workflows for external integrations.

This shift moves Codex from a background model into a dedicated developer interface focused on agentic execution. By supporting the Model Context Protocol, the model interacts directly with local tools and data sources. This transforms the platform into a command center for handling complex engineering and analysis tasks without manual setup.

You can now automate workflows like turning Figma designs into code, scaffolding SwiftUI apps, and generating slide decks. Other use cases include automated GitHub pull request reviews and Slack-based task initiation. These workflows are available through the Codex app, which supports parallel threads and integrated Git functionality.
