Open Generative UI Adds MCP Server for Rich AI Visual Components

· Updated

Open Generative UI, an open-source showcase by CopilotKit for building rich, interactive AI-generated UI with LangGraph, added a standalone Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. It exposes three capabilities: an assemble_document tool that wraps HTML fragments with the full design system into an iframe-ready document, skill resources for browsing visualization instructions, and prompt templates for widgets, SVG diagrams, and advanced visualizations.

This brings generative UI — agents producing live interactive components instead of plain text — to any MCP-compatible workflow. A LangChain agent can receive a technical document and render an interactive diagram on demand. The server connects via stdio for Claude Desktop or HTTP for Claude Code and Cursor.

Point any MCP-compatible agent at the Open Generative UI server to generate interactive charts, diagrams, WebGL animations, or algorithm visualizations from prompts — the assemble_document tool handles the HTML wrapping and theming.

The Open Generative UI repo just got an MCP Server 💥 This lets you bring generative UI to your agents inside any application. See how a @LangChain agent turns a technical document into a beautiful, custom diagram with the Open Generative UI MCP. Code: https://t.co/Cv0OqUk35m https://t.co/TTXgksyOX6
