1,400 enterprises don't choose an automation platform lightly. Neither does @SAP. Today, we're announcing a multi-year partnership with SAP that will embed n8n natively inside Joule Studio – giving SAP's developers a visual, flexible canvas to build and orchestrate AI workflows across their full tech stack. But why might enterprises want n8n to power the agentic era? Here’s why 🧵
n8n Partners with SAP to Embed Visual AI Orchestration in Joule Studio
· Updated
n8n, an open-source workflow automation platform for technical teams, announced a partnership to embed its engine natively inside SAP's Joule Studio. This integration provides a visual canvas for building AI workflows and orchestrating agents (autonomous systems that plan and execute multi-step tasks) directly within the SAP Business AI Platform.
This move addresses the agentic era by connecting SAP's business context with over 1,000 external integrations. Similar to n8n's Production AI Playbook and n8n's agent evaluation framework, the integration allows enterprises to wrap probabilistic AI steps in deterministic logic while maintaining SAP's native security and access controls.
Developers can use the n8n canvas to manage branching, error handling, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints across SAP and third-party tools. SAP-specific nodes and governed access to LLMs are currently in development, with an early adopter phase starting now and general availability scheduled for Q3 2026.

This multi-year strategic partnership embeds n8n's visual workflow automation engine natively into SAP's Joule Studio. It allows developers to build and orchestrate AI agents across their entire technology stack, connecting core SAP business processes with over 1,000 third-party integrations and AI models through a single, flexible canvas that supports no-code, low-code, and pro-code development.
n8n operates as a fully managed environment within Joule Studio on the SAP Business AI Platform. Developers use n8n's visual canvas to design, audit, and debug complex AI workflows. This includes coordinating agents, setting guardrails like PII detection, and implementing human-in-the-loop checkpoints to ensure business processes remain reliable and compliant across SAP and external services.
The integration is currently being previewed for attendees at the SAP Sapphire event. A select group of customers and partners will participate in an early adopter experience following the event. General availability for n8n inside Joule Studio, along with native SAP software nodes for deeper agent grounding, is scheduled to roll out in Q3 2026.
Because n8n runs on SAP's cloud infrastructure, it inherits the platform's existing identity, access control, and operational standards. Workflows remain within the secure environment where sensitive business data resides, making it suitable for organizations governed by GDPR or specific data residency policies. SAP handles the underlying operations, so teams do not need additional setup.
The tool is designed for SAP software developers, but the visual canvas also enables participation from business analysts and data teams. Users can design workflows using natural language in Joule Studio and refine them visually without needing deep SAP-specific coding expertise. This allows experts to focus on specialized tasks while others build integrations using SAP data.
