Cowork, Anthropic's autonomous desktop agent for non-coding work, adds scheduled tasks: describe a recurring job and a time, and Claude handles it without prompting. Examples include sales lead briefings every Tuesday morning, weekly newsletter drafts Thursday at noon, and daily Slack summaries. Set it once, step away, come back to completed work.
Scheduled tasks get stronger with plugins, which give Cowork domain expertise — brand voice, legal, and finance. A new Customize tab consolidates plugin management, skills, connectors, and slash commands in one sidebar location.
Cowork is in research preview on macOS and Windows, available on all paid Claude plans. If you're running recurring workflows manually today — standups, reports, data pulls — scheduled tasks is the feature to test first.
