Anthropic Economic Index Finds Experienced Claude Users Get Better Results

· Updated

Anthropic's Economic Index March 2026 report, covering February 2026 usage, finds high-tenure users — those who signed up at least six months prior — are 7 percentage points more likely to use Claude for work, collaborate more iteratively, and achieve a 10% higher conversation success rate not explained by task type or country. Users calibrate model selection to complexity: Opus runs 4 points above average for coding tasks and 7 points below for tutoring.

Claude.ai usage diversified over the same period: the top 10 most common tasks fell from 24% to 19% of conversations between November 2025 and February 2026. Coding activity migrated to the API via Claude Code while personal queries rose, suggesting the user base is broadening beyond early technical adopters.

Review the full report to understand which tasks and occupations are seeing deepest Claude adoption — useful if you're thinking about where AI fits in your workflow.

New from the Anthropic Economic Index: how people’s use of Claude changes with experience. Longer-term users are more likely to iterate carefully with Claude, and less likely to hand it full autonomy. They attempt higher-value tasks, and receive more successful responses. https://t.co/yCsrA0bLt9
