Warp Agent Mode Adds Multi-Choice Prompts for Structured Human Feedback

Warp's AI agent now uses a dedicated tool to present users with multi-choice questions during the planning and feedback stages of a task. This shift from open-ended chat to structured UI options keeps developers in the loop without requiring manual text input for every decision.

Warp, an agentic development environment combining a terminal with AI-native features, updated its Agent Mode with an "ask question" tool. This allows the integrated AI agent to pause execution and present structured, multi-choice prompts. Instead of guessing a path forward, the agent proactively seeks clarification when forming a plan.

This update addresses the need for user guidance by implementing a human-in-the-loop (a design pattern where AI pauses for human approval) mechanism. By providing specific options, Warp reduces the effort for developers who would otherwise type out instructions to correct an agent. It moves the interaction to a collaborative workflow.

You can trigger these interactions by asking the agent to create a plan for a complex task. The multi-choice UI appears directly in the terminal interface for quick selection of the next step. This feature is available to all users of the Warp terminal as part of its core capabilities.

Warp can now ask you questions. Whenever you make a plan or ask for feedback, the agent has an "ask question" tool to give you a multi-choice prompts. Ask Warp to... ask you about it 😉 https://t.co/ejEFgvaA5q
