Qwen3-Coder-Next, the open-weight coding model scoring over 70% on SWE-Bench Verified, is now available via API on Alibaba Cloud Model Studio and added to the Coding Plan subscription. Teams who don't want to self-host can now access it at scale.

Qwen3-Coder-Next, Alibaba's open-weight coding model designed specifically for coding agents, is now available via API on Alibaba Cloud Model Studio. The model uses a hybrid attention and MoE architecture - active parameters at ~3B while built on an 80B base - delivering coding agent performance that matches much larger models at lower inference cost. It scored over 70% on SWE-Bench Verified using the SWE-Agent scaffold.

The API addition matters for teams who don't want to self-host: you get the same coding agent capability through a standard endpoint without managing local infrastructure. The Coding Plan - Alibaba Cloud's fixed-monthly-fee subscription for AI coding tools - now includes qwen3-coder-next alongside other models, compatible with Claude Code, Qwen Code, Cline, and OpenClaw.

Access the model via Alibaba Cloud Model Studio's API documentation. If you're already on the Coding Plan, qwen3-coder-next is included without additional per-request billing.
