The video model landscape is highly fragmented, requiring separate API keys and custom integrations for every new provider. By centralizing these models, OpenRouter removes the infrastructure overhead of switching between video backends, allowing teams to swap models based on cost or quality without rewriting their core application logic.
You can now build automated multimedia pipelines that use an LLM (a model trained to understand and generate text) to generate detailed scene descriptions and an image model to create consistent characters before animating them. The service is live at the /api/v1/videos endpoint.
