NVIDIA Launches Open-Source Blueprint for AI-Powered Retail Commerce

· Updated

NVIDIA unveiled the Blueprint for retail agentic commerce at GTC 2026 — an open-source reference architecture enabling retailers to participate in agentic commerce ecosystems. The blueprint implements OpenAI's Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) and Google's Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) from a single deployment. Built on the NVIDIA NeMo Agent Toolkit with Nemotron open models, it ships four agents: promotion pricing, RAG-powered recommendations, semantic search, and multilingual post-purchase messaging. A delegated payment system keeps transactions under merchant control.

This marks a shift in retail from traditional storefronts into AI agent conversations. Retailers without agent-to-agent communication risk being invisible to shoppers buying through AI agents. The blueprint gives any retailer a ready-made entry into those conversations with real inventory, dynamic offers, and secure checkout.

Developers can clone the reference implementation from GitHub and deploy it with Docker — dual-protocol support means a single deployment works with any ACP- or UCP-compliant AI agent platform.
