MiniMax Music 2.6 Adds Narrative Structure and Human Realism to AI Audio

· Updated

MiniMax, an AI company building multimodal models, released MiniMax Music 2.6. The update introduces structural control, allowing users to prompt specific emotional arcs—like starting with tension and building to triumph—that the model follows beat by beat. It also adds intentional imperfection for human-sounding vocals.

This release shifts AI music from random generation to a directed creative process. By improving low-mid frequency response for tighter bass in genres like House and Trap, the model moves closer to professional standards. Style transfer and remixing capabilities also allow creators to reimagine existing melodies in entirely different genres.

You can access the 14-day free global beta now, which allows for 500 songs per day. For developers, MiniMax open-sourced three MusicSkills for AI agent workflows. The model delivers initial audio in under 20 seconds and includes a dedicated Instrumental Mode.
