Google Labs Launches Dreambeans to Proactively Turn Personal Data Into Stories

Google Labs launched Dreambeans, an experimental mobile app that uses Personal Intelligence (a context layer connecting AI to private data) to proactively generate daily stories. Unlike assistants that wait for prompts, the app autonomously scans Gmail, Calendar, Google Photos, YouTube, and Search history to "brew" a fresh collection of personalized insights each morning.

This release builds on the Personal Intelligence framework previously used for travel planning, but shifts it into a dedicated interface. By integrating the Nano Banana 2 model, Dreambeans generates custom artwork featuring the user and their loved ones via Google Photos, moving beyond generic stock imagery to create a truly individualized content feed.

The app is available today for US-based Google AI Ultra subscribers (18+). Users can download it on iOS or Android and must connect at least one Google service. A "Tuning" feature allows users to refine future stories by providing feedback on irrelevant content, which the system processes overnight to improve the next day's delivery.

Still wondering? A few quick answers below.

Dreambeans is an experimental mobile app that proactively surfaces personalized stories based on your digital life. It connects to your Google apps to find meaning in daily content overload, distilling insights into a visual feed. Each story is illustrated with AI-generated artwork that reflects your specific interests and personal context.

The app uses a Personal Intelligence layer to securely synthesize information from connected services like Gmail, Google Photos, and Search history. It identifies upcoming events, active hobbies, and visual memories to build customized stories. You maintain control over which apps are connected and can delete your data or feedback history at any time.

Currently, Dreambeans is available to eligible Google AI Ultra subscribers in the United States who are 18 or older. Eligible users can download the app on Android or iOS and log in with a personal Google account. Others can join a waitlist as Google Labs works to expand access to more regions.
