Google AI Studio launched the Music Playground for the
Lyria 3 model family. It features Composer Mode for guided prompt engineering and a preview of Lyria 3 Pro, which generates 48kHz stereo audio up to three minutes long. These models transform text or image inputs into full musical tracks including vocals and lyrics.This release shifts music generation from an experimental toy to a production-ready component of the Gemini ecosystem. By providing structural coherence in longer tracks, the models solve a persistent technical challenge in AI audio. It allows teams to treat high-fidelity sound as a standard, programmable asset for multimodal applications.
You can now prototype musical concepts and use the export to code feature to implement them via the Gemini API. This enables workflows like generating dynamic in-game music or automated marketing soundtracks. The Lyria 3 Pro preview is currently available for testing within the AI Studio interface.
