Codex App Adds Full Theme Personalization with Import and Share
· Updated
Codex, OpenAI's agentic coding environment, released version
26.312 with a full theme system in Settings. Developers can select a base theme, then adjust accent color, background, foreground, UI font, and code font independently. Built-in presets like Dracula, Matrix, and Everforest are available, and themes can be imported or exported to share with others.Theming is a feature developers have expected from primary coding environments for years — editors like VS Code have made it a near-universal baseline. Its arrival in Codex rounds out the app's day-to-day usability alongside its agentic coding capabilities.
Teams that have settled on shared editor aesthetics can now bring that consistency into Codex. Export a theme, hand it to a colleague, and everyone works in the same visual environment — a small quality-of-life addition that signals Codex is maturing beyond raw agentic power.
