Claude for Excel and PowerPoint Now Share Context and Skills

· Updated

Claude for Excel and Claude for PowerPoint now operate with a unified context across open files. When both add-ins are active, Claude reads and writes between them in a single conversation — pulling figures from a spreadsheet, building a trading comps table, then dropping the valuation summary into a deck, all without re-explaining the dataset at each step.

Skills — saved, repeatable workflows — are now available inside both add-ins. Anthropic ships a preloaded starter set for common financial workflows: auditing models for formula errors, building LBO, DCF, and three-statement templates, running comparable company analyses, and updating or reviewing pitch decks. Organization-wide skills set up in Claude's desktop or web app work inside the add-ins automatically.

Both add-ins are in beta for all paid plans on Mac and Windows. Organizations can also route through Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud's Vertex AI, or Microsoft Foundry instead of a direct Claude account.

Claude for Excel and Claude for PowerPoint now sync together seamlessly. When you’ve got more than one file open, Claude shares the full context of your conversation between them. Pull data from spreadsheets, build out tables, and update a deck — without re-explaining a step. https://t.co/mY8jrHj6Di
