Anthropic Announces Monthly Agent SDK Credit for Paid Claude Plans Starting June 15

Anthropic is introducing a dedicated monthly credit for paid Claude plans to cover programmatic usage starting June 15, 2026. This credit applies to the Claude Agent SDK, the claude -p command for piped terminal input, and Claude Code GitHub Actions. It also supports third-party applications like OpenClaw and Conductor built on the Agent SDK.

The credit refreshes monthly with the billing cycle and does not roll over. Claude Agent SDK usage will no longer count against subscription usage limits — those stay reserved for interactive Claude Code, Claude Cowork, and Claude conversations. This reverses Anthropic's earlier policy of excluding third-party tools from subscription coverage.

You will be able to use this credit to power automated scripts, CI/CD pipelines, and third-party Agent SDK applications without separate API billing. Once your monthly credit runs out, additional usage flows to extra usage at standard API rates if enabled — otherwise Agent SDK requests stop until the credit refreshes. Current subscribers will receive an email on June 8 to claim before the June 15 launch.
