Anthropic Announces Monthly Agent SDK Credit for Paid Claude Plans Starting June 15

· Updated

Anthropic is introducing a dedicated monthly credit for paid Claude plans to cover programmatic usage starting June 15, 2026. This credit applies to the Claude Agent SDK, the claude -p command for piped terminal input, and Claude Code GitHub Actions. It also supports third-party applications like OpenClaw and Conductor built on the Agent SDK.
Effective date
June 15, 2026
Claim email date
June 8, 2026
Covered tools
Claude Agent SDK, claude -p, Claude Code GitHub Actions
Third-party examples
Conductor and OpenClaw
Eligible plans
Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise

The credit refreshes monthly with the billing cycle and does not roll over. Claude Agent SDK usage will no longer count against subscription usage limits — those stay reserved for interactive Claude Code, Claude Cowork, and Claude conversations. This reverses Anthropic's earlier policy of excluding third-party tools from subscription coverage.

You will be able to use this credit to power automated scripts, CI/CD pipelines, and third-party Agent SDK applications without separate API billing. Once your monthly credit runs out, additional usage flows to extra usage at standard API rates if enabled — otherwise Agent SDK requests stop until the credit refreshes. Current subscribers will receive an email on June 8 to claim before the June 15 launch.

Still wondering? A few quick answers below.

The programmatic usage credit is a new monthly allowance for paid Claude subscribers that covers automated and developer-focused tasks. Instead of paying separate API fees for every request, users can draw from this dedicated credit to power scripts, autonomous agents, and command-line interactions directly through their existing subscription plan.

The credit covers the Claude Agent SDK for building autonomous agents and the claude -p command for piped terminal usage. It also applies to Claude Code GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation and third-party applications built on the Agent SDK, such as OpenClaw and Conductor, which previously required separate API billing.

Paid Claude subscribers will receive an email on June 8, 2026, with instructions on how to claim their dedicated monthly credits. The new credit system and the ability to use these programmatic tools under a subscription plan will officially go into effect one week later on June 15.
